Release Party – A Vengeance of Angels – November 1st

November 1st! There, I’ve finally committed myself to a release date for my second novel (see above) which will soon be available from Amazon as well as other outlets.

Many of you will have already seen the cover release, blurb, and teasers for my second novel ‘A Vengeance of Angels.’ It’s been two years in the making, and yet it’s still taken one year less than my first novel. Lessons learned during the steep learning curve that was the creation of my first eBook and paperback have been applied. The timetable created by my editor, Tara, has also been pivotal in this case.

Now, almost exactly two years after my debut release, the second part of The Angels of York is ready. I’ve edited the eBook and paperback side by side, so the physical version will be available from Createspace shortly after the eBook goes live. After having tried Amazon’s exclusive KDP with the first book, and seeing no real benefit, I will not be going exclusive with this novel. So it will be available from Smashwords and Kobo almost immediately after it appears on Amazon.

I’ve already begun advertising the sequel using the free space on my van, showing off Ravven’s artwork to all who follow me along the road.

I also took the opportunity to refresh my original magnetic poster, which had begun to look tired after 25 months of English weather. Yes, they do wear out eventually.

So, without further ado, I invite you (yes, you!) to my launch party on Saturday 1st November. Caption contests, funnies and music will be the order of the day. I hope you can make it.

Until then,

Work in Progress Blog Hop Challenge

I was recently nominated by my more-than-entertaining blogging mate Jon to share my opening sentences with everyone who reads my posts.

People DO read my posts… don’t they? *listens to the keening wind and the rustle of tumbleweed.* Oh well, just me then.

I am to post, as required, the opening sentence from each of the first three chapters of my current WIP, ‘A Vengeance of Angels.’

This is the sequel to my debut novel ‘A Construct of Angels’ and describes the apocalyptic adventures of the Angel-become-mortal, Michael.

Oh, if you’ve already read the first book (which uses Sara Finn’s POV), this story is told from Michael’s POV.

Chapter One:

I was alone, and I was glad of it.

Chapter Two:

The bright beacon that had been the Black Star flared briefly as it swept toward the western horizon.

Chapter Three:

Two weary men – paramedics by the look of their leaf green jumpsuits – trudged wearily through the reception area.

That’s it! That’s the only peek you’re getting for now. *waves everyone gently back.*

Thanks for nominating me Jon.  Everyone, please go and pay Jumpingfromcliffs a visit. It’s so entertaining, it should be on your bucket list!

Now, in keeping with the blog hop, I now nominate four other bloggers to continue the fun:

Sonya Loveday

Ryan Casey

Michelle Proulx

Jacqui Murray

Have fun, and above all:

Small tweaks for your posts

‘Leave a Reply..?’ That’s soooo last week!

If you’re bored with the ‘Leave a Reply’ box that appears at the bottom of your posts, have a little fun by changing it into a different language or replace it with a series of Lewis Carroll-esque Snarks and Boojums.  Leave a custom message that suits the mood of your blog – if you’re of the Emo persuasion you might say ‘Say something – or don’t.  I’m not really bothered.’  Or if you’re a fan of felines you could say;’ If you love cats, tell me all about it.’

Be frivolous and jokey or add different languages for overseas followers.   Whatever takes your fancy.  The sky is no longer the limit – just ask Buzz Aldrin!

.

To replace the ‘Leave a Reply’, go to your dashboard and select ‘Settings’, then ‘Discussion.’  Scroll down and you should find…

…the ‘Prompt’.  Here’s where you can tweak your comments box and be really creative!

Have fun!
