Plucked About (Book 2)
November 2018:
With the editing completed, and the beta-reading underway, the time has come to think about the book cover. Brendan Smith created a great banner for my Facebook page:
but the design was too ‘serious’ to work as a cover for the Plucked series. So I contacted Funky Book covers, who created the first cover, and together, we came up with this:
I hope it conveys the fun, sexy, sci-fi content of the second story.
June 2018:
As I wrote my ‘Angels of York’ series, I put a lot of thought into the idea about who might play my characters, if only to help me visualise them better.
With ‘Plucked,’ I realised I hadn’t given this any thought.
So, provisionally, I will now visualise the three main characters as follows:
Dwayne Johnson (as Arris the Eridanian):
His build and acting style matches Arris’s character perfectly. However, Arris is anything but an action hero. He’s more of a big, dopey dog. Perhaps I should have chosen John Candy instead?
Mariesther Venegas (Amanda Topliss)
Plus-size model Mariesther’s image leapt out at me as the image of my geeky character Amanda.
And finally, Max Headroom, the only possible choice for Mac, my zany and boderline unhinged AI:

Potential cover for Book2:
As of the end of June, 2018, the first draft of Book 2 is complete, and is now ‘resting’ before the read-through commences.
Official edits are scheduled for October, so a further read-through will be possible before the manuscript is sent away.
The entirety of the second adventure stemmed from me wondering; ‘what if one of the salvaged parts breaks?’
It promises to be a rip-roaring, wise-cracking adventure through space… and maybe time as well.
